I dont care for any ipod fanboys telling me to get an ipod, so if thats all you have to say, just dont say it.

Im rather disappointed in my zune. Its rated 14 hours, but heck, under REAL world environment, i get like 6.

well under "normal" use. like... skipping some songs, browsing through music on the bus. I get about 6 hours. When watching movies, i get about 2.5 hours. its all done with low backlight. rather disappointing from microsoft.

Could you do like an accurate battery test if ya have time? like you say it'd only take about 6 hours. I don't own a Zune or anything but would like to know its battery life, I love my facts I do

10+ hours here. Always. Before and after changing the original battery.

ok, so i've turned my zune on at 9am, and its almost 1pm. thats 4 hours and the battery is flickering between half and semi-full. so if this was to go on, i'd probably expect 10 hours, maybe pushing 11. im rarely changing tracks though or clicking between menus. I just play albums that I really like and switch between albums when theyre finished. the blacklight is on low, and turns off after 5 seconds.

its been 3 hours and 40 minutes. ill keep ya'll posted on this semi formal test.

just letting you know, I dont care about an extreme "pushing to the limits" test. There will probably never be a day where i just turn on my mp3 and leave it like that until the battery drains. i change through songs and look at menus and stuff.

its been 7 hours. I think the first few bars of the zune isnt very accurate. its been at the half mark for much longer than its been at the other bars. maybe ill hit that 10 hours. lol

test done.

with "once in a while" messing around menus to select my next album, i got exactly 11 hours. still, i think if i were to USE the other features that the mp3 has to provide such as pictures and wifi and radio and video, it would be around 6 hours. ill give that a shot tomorrow.

alt-preset extreme, low backlight, wifi-off (I live in Canada where it isn't released yet) with fiddling every 4-10 tracks I get 10-12 usually.
