I am being greedy here.. I got my tf10s last week only and have not even given them too much listening.. but my greed is making me think what could be upgrade after tf10s without going into the customs field... So basically I am looking for headphones/IEMs that would take me beyond the sound quality of triple fis

I don't wanna go with the customs I can't afford them right now.. Probably some headphones that would be worth the upgrade from tf10s but won't cost me a lot of money.

I want something that would have negligible pressure build up and very comfortable. I wouldn't buy a closed one cause I can't handle the pressure buildup with the bass beats...

i'd say unless u're really prepared to move on to full sized headphones, just stick with the tripfis. IEMs will always have their advantages of portability and profile. if you can spare the cash, keep them and get your headphones anyway =]

and what A|X said, but he's missing the adjective (universal), u could probably find something better in customs, but u clearly don't want to move into that area..

also, upgrading isn't just about the end equipment, what's your source like?

It is the time to settle down and enjoy the music.

My source is a Cowon D2 and sometimes sony A818..
What would be a headphone upgrade???

Are you sure you are getting a good seal? I'm not sure how someone would want to upgrade so fast from IEM's as good as the Triple fi's

One thing I well tell you... I doubt you will get better sound quality out of any production full-size headphone unless you also plan to upgrade your source and amp. My HD580's and DT880's are not necessarily better than the triple fi's, just different.

I honestly like the Triple fi's out of my Cowon D2 more than listening to my home rig a lot of the time, even though I've only had 'em for a while. The only downside is they can get a bit uncomfortable after a while. Comfort gets better over time though

While we are at it, why not a pair of Stax, or those killer looking float?

Sorry to jack, but I take it you can't take a pr of customs made for someone else, & have them remoulded for you. Just wondered following what fdhdy posted...

And to stay on thread, I seriously doubt you're going to better Triple Fi unless you spend serious amounts on either customs or f/s cans....you want an alternative that doesn't cost as much, with OK SQ? Try Grado SR80 or above, or ATH ES7...not really like TF10 in SQ quality, but they sure are a good listen for the money!

comfort is one big reason why I have started looking for an alternative but after listening to tf10s I can't compromise with the SQ so need something that is better.

Tf10s are soooo freakin uncomfortable that I can't wear them for more than an hour....I have ordered the comply tips hoping they would improve the fit but I seriously doubt it cause their size itself is big...no huge....

What kind of source is needed for big cans ?
