It's been several months since I've seen the mad scientist Duggeh. All I've seen lately is the consumer Duggeh. Sure he's bought some cool headphones, and written some great reviews, but where's the Duct Tape Deviate we all looked forward to. It's not just the fact that he built some wierd, dangerous looking headphones, he also had the gumption to wear them. I'm sure the Gin consumption had something to do with it. He'll probably cop out to having too much homework and wanting to graduate, or some lame excuse like that, but lets demand some new Frankenphone and be quick about it!

Back at uni happened. This in combination which me not having my materials and tools up with me has lead to an inevitable decrease in diy sillyness. Theres also my sensible DIY-ing, which slowly trundles along.

Ive drawn up plans for the Phonobuds, the Qu4d-Compact, and the Phonodome MK5i. All that is needed is for me to get my bits and bobs from back home and get on with it.

Duggehtronics thanks its loyal customers for their patience during these dark times.

Phonodome P1, made with those titanium micro drivers you see on battery powered portable speakers.

Phonodome MK4. Final version of the closed design.

And on the head.

Perhaps these will chear you up a bit Steve. The MK.5i will be open circa K1000 again. PhonoBuds will be buds in more than one way. The Qu4d compact will be the gamers best friend.

i was so discouraged at seeing the first pic - it almost looked attractive and practical...but then you came through with the second and third pics! long live the PhonoDome!

The only way you could better the Mk4's would be days-of-the-week socks. Then they'd be purrrrrfect.

Buds eh... sounds like a detailed project. I remember a while back somebody drew a (harebrained) sketch of some earbuds where the drivers sat several inches from the ears on the other end off some ear-trumpets, suspended on a dangling frame of some sort. Moving into this territory?

The P1s, rubbish.

The MK4c, extremely bassy and rapidly fatiguing. Although very comfy. It needs the use of an in-line resistor thing to attenuate this.
