Sit thight.. here is my evening and why it sounds so well

Okay... imagine you had a long day your head is filled with heavy stuff and the new can related system your company where working on for months is done but the project manager called in sick so ever though you could in theory take them home for relaxing tour - you can't. Because the #¤%*! guy to let you leave with a pair without getting your charged with corporate theft is not there to let you!
Now imagine you had a better half and she forgot to tell you that she is going out with her friend and sister and they are gonna spend the hole evening at your place to do their girly thing.

Its not the woman stuff mind you - heck if she can life with this addict...

No what I hate is the noise from the heatblowers and what not. Oh and the horrible the music from my yet to be "upgraded" stereo system mixing in my fine and delicate music on open cans. You see my current closed one are a good step down and since the launch of HD 800 kept me from buying as planned the first high-end closed as a bithday present to my self and now the need for a new amp for the HD 800 hunts that closed pair even further off. HD 800 was a
atsmile.gif
present too but anyways...
So I'm thinking yeah right just add to my pain and step on a day of misery - not even a quite evening with my current cans can fate let me have
frown.gif

But then right there I'm thinking hey! .. wait a moment! She was picking me up because we needed a few things hence we are going to shop and there is not going to be any one home to take me away from my 'phones all night! Time to do this day right!

.... bla bla bla not interesting stuff fast forwarding ...

So the end line is I'm sitting here with:
 • A big smile as I just kicked the ladys out in the winter snow
 • Imported very fine cold beer
 • Some hot, hot, hot salsa
 • Some tortilla chips and the sort
 • Bottle of cheap'n'cold italian sparkly
 • New music (Depeche Mode collections I never got)
 • New Blueray movie (The new batman which has great picture and music qualities - I'm listing to the OST often on my mobile rig)
 • New PC game (FEAR 2)
 • All my rigs
 • All my cans
 • Loads of time to wast
 • A locked door to keep the evil from comming back.
 • Dreams of joy...
My question to you is - what is the recipe for a perfect headphone moment for you?

Because, btw. Anyway, an interesting question, to which my answer is:

A winter's day – raining, perhaps snowing – outside. The fireplace blazing, the soft pops and crackles faintly audible, even from under my headphones. It'd have to be D1001, from my current setup, just because they're the most comfortable. Classical album after classical album, interspersed with some jazz. Brandy on the rocks in one hand. A good novel in the other. And kneeling between my legs...nevermind.

I stand corrected.. other rather not because my for some odd reason even thought I'm a blessed IT engineer student which have made many skills over my relatively short life time the spelling system for both my OpenOffice and Firefox keeps escaping my grasp of black magic...

And then when you are half passed not fully alcohol free you realizing that you are using Firefox which hasn't got a spelling systems installed... problem fixed for good - sorry for all the pain I made out there

Meh, your English spelling is better than my Danish spelling.

Cold Winter day (midmorning), snow on the ground, slight ice storm the night before (so twigs are covered in thin clear ice, sunny with few clouds. Listening to music while looking out the window in my bedroom.

These are my favorite days throughout the year anyways, so if you add music to them they just get better. I cant wait for the first one this year. The first time ill experience it with the Grado HF-2.

Something like this...
A rainy and windy evening sometime in the late fall (October/November). The rain and wind in addition to the darkness and chilly weather make it really comfortable to stay inside, while being fully aware of what is going on just a few meters away.

Fill up a glass of scotch, light a candle and enjoy some beautiful music. Bliss!

Harvest is in and outside work is done for the year. I come home from a nice evening of dinner and drinks to crack open a good book and slide into my hps to enjoy a relaxing end of the day.

I am lucky to live in a country where have no shortage of snow (Canada), and I have to say that a cold, snowy winter day is my favorite listening setting.

One of the most enjoyable times for listening to music for me is when it's raining, and I'm walking downtown. It's sort of like a movie, when you have IEMs in. People are running everywhere to get away from this ... this water. I stride on, usually in my shorts. Skin is waterproof. Something thumping elevates my pace, Their Law. Keep my head up, face the elements.

When it's cold out (and yes, it occasionally dips below 50F in Los Angeles) and I'm slightly intoxicated... with something or other... yet am still sober enough to flip records and not destroy the stylus.

Warm and toasty in the apartment, blizzard outside, mug of hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps, blanket, Omega1
