What's a good soundcard to pair with a set of Senn HD 555's?

I want to get a pair of Senn HD 555's but I only have onboard sound so I'm thinking I want to get a soundcard too.

Just enable bit perfect playback with kernel streaming; personally I would just save up to get better headphones or an external DAC.

Okay I think my motherboard is supposed to have pretty decent onboard sound anyway. (I have an ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard)

It changes with different onboards, just you onboard and bit perfect into google and you should be able to find a guide. To enable kernel streaming download this and put it into your Foobar components folder, then enable it in Preferences-Output.

iBasso D2 Boa is more than enough.

its a USB DAC + Headphone amp. ..not a typical soundcard so that means only sound output...no inputs for mic.


but much better than consumer soundcards

I would save up a little and get a nice DAC and headphone amp. That is if you are serious about your sound. Welcome to the boards!
