I've bought many headphones and now im going to buy some new and signed up here. I saw this Ampthread and i dont have any clue what the amps are for or where you put them?

I know that they maybe give better sound quality or something like that. What i need is some real good info

Many headphones, particularly higher quality models, cannot be driven adequately from the headphone out jacks of many home receivers, portable players, etc. A dedicated headphone amp is supposed to remedy that and drive your headphones to their full potential by increasing dynamics, extension on both ends, noiseless background, etc.

You can find out more by doing a search on these forums. Or you can leave now and save lots of money. Your decision.

Okay cool! haha well, i'll return here when i get that big paycheck so i can buy really good headphones and one really good amp(?)

.. btw thanks for the information. didnt know that there was SO much to learn about headphones til' now!
