I am of course refering to teh transport mechanics found on portable cd players. anyway i was after your knowladageble input on what you think the best transport would be.As the whole PCDP unit is to be used , optical out is a must. Some things this i consider important are speed , power consumption ect... The phisical size of the whole player is also of great importance. I ask this only because i am considering beginning my own PDAC project and said information would be quite handy.

The Sony DEJ725 is a good choice for a pdac project as it has your optical out, defeatable g protection and amazing battery life.

sorry, I thought I had notes on this..
sony and panasonic made dvd/cd players. supposedly they were 24/96 dacs and other bells and whistles. Oh, these players didn't have screens. They were stand alones with opt and regular line outs.
