What wire gauge with Tread?

What is the optimal wire gauge to use with a Tread. Specifcally I mean coming in from the DC jack and going out to the board (in this case a Pimeta). I know the pads are big enough for 18 gauge, but that's a little big. Is using 24 AWG a bad idea?

i bet people are reading this as "What wire gauge with thread?" and getting as confused as i was when i read it.

I used 22 AWG in my Millett everywhere. In to the TREAD, out to the board, and all the signal wiring.

Mine is using 24 AWG. Works fine.
