I used the term gadget to exclude things like "the bottle of wine that we had on our first date" or "the book that changed my mind of the world". Just plain gadgets like watches, knives, TVs, bottle opener, e-piano, cufflinks, etc.

Mine:
1. Macbook Pro
2. Ipod
3. Sennheiser HD 25-1
4. Casio PX-100 (e-piano)
5. Tivoli PAL (the best thing for summer)

I use all of them on a daily basis and they really add simplicity and quality to my daily life instead of using up time or fostering geekdom.

Definitely the Westone ES-2. So much sound in such a little package. It goes with me wherever I go and gets sound that's quite on par with full-size hi-fi rigs. Incredible! I've thought of selling off the rest of my stuff many times, but it's hard to let go of the electrostats. Hmm... maybe for newer, better electrostats!

1. XM Sat. Radio (I use it everyday in my car, and at the gym)
2. Dell 24 inch monitor (best screen I have owned, for the CPU, and the odd HDtv on it)

1. My Computer (Finally got my own personal computer last Christmas)
2. Gamepark GP32 handheld
3. Re-bought N64 games (mainly Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 64, and Goldeneye)
4. Insignia NS-B2111 bookshelf speakers
5. Westinghouse 22" widescreen LCD monitor (Black Friday deal)
6. Canon PowerShot A75

I'm not sure if #3 counts though.

My core headphone system for starters: Singlepower MPX3, Senn 650's, Cyrus CD6 and the amazing deal I got on my Denon DP-59L turntable. All of those pieces will be with me for a long time.

Other "gadgets" that have been much appreciated are my widescreen monitor, Tivoli PAL, and my original Xbox. My PC is over 3 years old but holding strong :P.

The things I bring to School everyday:

1) Samsung D900 - Bought this about 3-4 weeks ago, by far the best phone I've ever owned.

2) 8gig iPod Nano/Westone UM2 - Keeps me sane for my 2 hours of commuting every day + Library use

3) HP NC6230 Laptop - about a year old now, its one of HP's business class laptops, very thin and portable, and is good enough to run few of the top games out there.

1. Nikon D200. I don't think I've enjoyed any other purchase quite as much.
2. Apple Cinema Display. Can't imagine working without it.
3. Wacom Tablet. Feels like I wasn't really using Photoshop before.
4. RS1 / Melos SHA-1 setup. I feel like they go hand and hand as a great purchase, given the synergy. In fact, I've started selling off other gear simply because I don't like anything else nearly as much.

-Lavry DA10/Pass Aleph 30/AKG K1000 combination. Such a simple setup but so far it's the best headphone setup I've heard. And I too have sold off all the old gear. And the Lavry has a great built in amp for the HD650.

-Palm Tungsten T3. Extremely helpful in the hospital and there is tons of medical software on the Palm OS

-Samsung 50" 1080p DLP TV. This thing is seriously amazing with real 1080p/720p movies. DVDs pale in comparison to high res. I would rank this higher than the Palm, but the Palm has been more practical.

Thats really all the decent tech I've bought in the last 3 years. Most of the other stuff has come and gone or isn't worthy to make the list.

I'm hoping to replace the T3 with the Treo 700p smartphone since I use my cellphone a lot and carrying one device would be more convenient.

Oh yes <nerd> also dreaming of a Littmann electronic stethoscope. mmm

Whoa, I'd never heard of that. I just got to looking at it and as a local trucker the traffic features would be amazing. Radio traffic just takes too long and I'm out of the truck often enough that I usually miss it.
