You mean Prof. Boyer's house? Don't forget it was your roots too - for one disasterous weekend house sit. Happy New Year, Fool!

"Shellshock" by New Order.

I'm sure if Ian Curtis could have come back to life he would have kicked their asses over this piece of pithy synth pop.

i LOVE "Shellshock!" that's one rockin' dancey tune...

i think it's one of their better 1986 songs, a lot better than "State of the Nation," and a whole lot better than a few songs off Brotherhood.

if you want to talk about a bad New Order song, how about the 12" single version of "Subculture?" horrible horrible crap! worst thing New Order put on tape... it's so bad even Peter Saville refused to design a sleeve for it.

as for The Cure, its definitely "Bananafishbones." yuck!
and for my beloved Suede, it's "Savoir Faire," with some of the dumbest lyrics Brett Anderson ever wrote... "she lives in a house, she's stupid as a mouse..." What!!!

Revolution #9 - The Beatles

I can't think of any Beatles songs that I truly dislike except this one (not that you can really call it a song). Been listening to it for over 35 years and still don't get it.

Nah.. it's a pretty good tune and has an interesting story behind it.
I'm with JMT, Revolution #9 was (is) a waste of time.

Is Revolution #9 really a song?
Or a revolutionary noise-scape of significant influence on many later artists?
You guys are being square...drop some acid and you'll see that it's groovy baby.

Tried that in the early 70's, still didn't get it.....

.....but the ceiling in my room started breathing.

Here is one I could never understand and I think it made it to #1.

Chuck Berry singing -- My Ding A Ling

Ah...fav acid tune was 'A Day in the Life' - that tune would float you to the ceiling (yeah, the breathing one

) then slam you to the floor. Never could tell when it ended - talk about head resonance!

Sweet Sweet - The Smashing Pumpkins (how to screw up a fantastic album in just two minutes!)
Hallelujah - Bono (it's on an obscure Leonard Cohen tribute album from the mid-90s. It's truly, truly hideous)
It's True That We Love One Another (or whatever the hell it's called) - The White Stripes. I usually listen to *every* album I own all the way through, but I always cut Elephant off before the last track. Guh. Makes me want to barf.
