For me - Commodore Pet:

I then got a TRS-80 Model III of my very own.

"Computers" was the first class I ever got straight A's in. When I was in high school, it was taught by the math department. Computers have ruled my life ever since.

Some Nixdorf computer my school got around '83 (high school level.), maybe donation from somewhere. For the next year it got replaced with bunch of Apple II's (or IIe's, can't remember) and I bought one IIe too.

My first was one of the original IBM PCs that came out. It was old stock at the university that my dad works for and he got permission to bring it home. It was followed by some Texas Instrument computer that I remember very vaguely, and then was replaced by a Gateway PC tower in '93.

Apple laptop of some sort. It was the white variety before Macbooks came out. I was forced to use it for 40 minutes to do an assignment in class. I had to muster up every self-control I had in my body to restrain myself from chucking it clear out the window.

My b/fs work laptop in 1998 which came with a whopping 2GB of space

The first time I clicked on Internet Explorer, an 'illegal operation' message popped up. . . I got spooked out and shut it down!

The first one I used at work had an 8088 chip, but the one I had at home was an Atari 130XT.

My next work computer was an IBM PS-2 model 50 with a 80286 chip. And a COLOR monitor!

I also used to work for Bryant Computer in the early 70s and we made a nice 4.2 gig hard drive. You'd need really big pockets to carry an iPod in those days. Our drives used a slew of 36 inch discs and the cabinet was about the size of a VW Beetle!

Some old Apple actually, I don't recall if it was a II or a Mac, mind you this was early 90s. Kind of funny that the first was an Apple seeing my stance on them now. I'm glad that was the last Apple my family owned, I think it was a Mac.
