I am looking to upgrade my setup with $2,500 budget.
I am getting bored with my current setup Chord Hugo > OPPO HA-1 > HD800S

Thinking of getting LCD 3 to add to my setup ...

Any suggestions for the upgrades?

Upgrade Hugo to Hugo2?
Upgrade OPPO?
Sell Hugo and OPPO, add $2500 and get something else?

Sounds like a critical listening station to the max lol. Especially the ha-1 and hd800's. I'd say if critical listening is your thing then that set up is good for you. I use the Ha-1 with the Lcd-3's but the sabre DAC can be tiring. The power the Ha-1 is GREEEEAT! Perfect amount of power for the LCD-3's. Not versed with the Hugo but from what I hear buying the LCD-3's should be a nice upgrade for you and should give you imho a more laid back listening experience but not by a whole lot. Maybe getting a Singxer and the LCD-3's will give you the results you're looking for in that budget ballpark and you'd just be adding to your chain instead of putting a component out to pasture.

Maybe a tube amp? That's a nice HD800S pairing and change of tone from your HA1.
