Hello.
I'm very new to Stax world and need an advise what to buy. 1500-2200 usd. I have HD800 and LCD 4... Stax should be better in SQ...
I have tried L700 at the Munich High End show and was very impressed. I have an offer for Lamda pro + ED1 + SRM 1 MK2 for 2000 usd. Is it worth to buy? Or better try smthg else ? Have seen Omega II + amp 006mk2 for 2500..

I'd go for the L700 and use the remaining funds on a good energizer. I run my my pair from my iFi Pro iCan via the iESL and they sound spectacular. I really enjoy having the different iFi analog filters (bass boost, 3D/soundstage, tube modes) available for most of my headphones, but I very rarely touch any of these when it comes to the L700. The pairing really is delicious.

I think SRM727 and SRM007 are better than SRM1, although they are more expensive than SRM1.

006t is not enough to drive the 007. I'd say L700 + 353x or 006t would be your best bet, though that's still on the upper end of your budget. I wouldn't rule out the other Lambdas either, and your best bet would be to find somewhere you can listen to them back to back and see if the extra cost of the L700 is worth it, or what the amp synergy is like firsthand.

I have found a good offer for the srm-717. Still can get a new L700 for the 850 euro...
So it is 1550 in total. Is it worth to pay 800-1000 euro more to get 007 phones or 727 amp?

717and L700 form a good combo. 727 isn't an upgrade to 717 and both of them can't drive 007 phone properly.

Also worth considering the L300ltd. Give you most of the performance of the L700 but at a reduced price. Not as comfortable as the L700 though, I find it a bit awkward for some reason.

L300ltd has faked leather pads while L700 has genuine leather cushions.
