Okay, I know there is already a thread kind of like this one, but this one is dedicated to what song/album you were listening to when you had your first eargasm.(And at what quality if you know)

btw, I believe my first was listening to Refused are ****ing dead(The song not the album) from Refused

That would be somewhere inbetween King Crimson's "In the Court of the Crimson King" and the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil", both heard when originally released over thirty-five years ago on a good (for the time) component stereo system.

"Invaders" by Iron Maiden. Kick-off track from THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST.. I had heard some metal before, but nothing like this...that tune and the rest of the album turned my 13 year old brain into a hardcore metalhead.

I'd say a tie between Tool - "Sober", which led me to rock/some metal, or Primus - "Nature Boy". You'd think I'd say "My name is mud", but for some reason I really dig "Nature Boy". It definatly led me to find all the obscure records in my collection and keep my mind open to all kinds of music.

Tool - Lateralus

This was the first well recorded CD I can remember listening to when I first got into the hobby. It's usually my go-to album when I get some new gear, and I've never gotten sick of it

I'm going to have to go with Sigur Ros- "Untitled 8" off of (). I still get chills every time I listen to that dang track.

Cheers Thaddy...you're the only other Houstonian I've seen 'round here.

Joe Jackson - You Can't Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want). I still remember the first time I heard this track. Every aspect, from the horns to the bass was just magic.

Same here. It is now one of my benchmark songs for whenever I get any new gear. Just to say you haven't heard this song until you heard it live. The most recent song that has done it for me has been Starless from King Crimson's album Red.

It was Pink Floyd, on CBS Half-Speed Mastered vinyl, back in the early 80's. The song was "Welcome to the Machine", and it was truly mind-blowing!!

The wailing of that sax coming through my SR-60's, that did it for me! (Excuse me....)

I think it was Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride" when the clean guitar kicks in after the distortion at the beginning. I was young and listening through a pair of cheap Koss headphones and was blown away. I guess that qualifies as an eargasm.

I would have been in...1st, 2nd grade? I can't remember stuff like this that far back.

However, were I to guess, I'd say Deep Purple's Made in Japan.
