I'm totally new to all of this audio stuff so sorry for my lack of knowledge. So I have a pair of Sennheiser hd 558's and as looking for a headphone amp for when I use them with my MacBook Pro. Sometimes I will use it with my iPhone 5 but rarely. So I have it narrowed down to the Fiio E11 and the Fiio E7 and Fiio E17. I know that the E7 and E17 have DAC's also but I don't know really know what difference it makes and what it us, plus I don't know if I need it so I don't want to pay extra if I don't need it. I heard the E11 has a better amplifier so if I don't have to get a DAC that would be my obvious choice for it's price. Also, my headphones have an impedance of 50 ohms, so it's not that high and I don't want to spend more money on something I don't need, but if it really makes much of a difference, I would pay the extra cash. So my question is which one to get and if I need a DAC or not? Thanks!

Edit: I like listening to rock music, if that helps.Sometimes there will be more genres here and there, but mostly rock. Bands like Hands like Houses, so not too hardcore. I also enjoy a little bit softer like Alternative Rock, and some acoustic songs.

Get the Fiio E10 ($75) USB-DAC-Amp for use with the Macbook Pro.
Buy some JVC HA-S400 (only 32-Ohm, $32) on-ear, folding, closed, headphones for use with the IPhone 5.
This way you do not have to carry an extra amplifier around with your phone.
Plus the HA-S400 are closed, so helps block noise when in public.
