In 2001 I would have had 10 companies begging for me at this point (just finished my junior year at Purdue in computer science) - today is a different market. I'll be lucky to get an offer or two, whereas three years ago anything I wanted (bonuses, cars, salary), all I had to do is ask and companies would go fetch

Yeah but all those guys that did get all those offers in 2001, are now looking for jobs, cause their companies are all out of business now. So if you get a job...at least you will know its a bit more stable than that.

Hm, I get paid in Thailand 1/4 of what I'd make in the US. No wonder you guys buy more equipment!

Survey done recently in Maryland found that UM Pharmacy school graduates had on average 3.8 job offers BEFORE they graduated. Average starting salary was $85K.

Something to think about if anyone is thinking about college/ career!!!

Too bad they don't pay faculty all that well.

I just looked at that site.
The mean average for my work group (railroad conductors and yardmasters) is quite a bit lower than I make. I went deeper. It appears that I am in the 90 percentile of my work group. I find that strange since I know that the area I work in is one of the lower paid areas for the company I work for. I even work the lowest paying run in my area. (by choice)

Pretty good money for just a high school diploma.

I'm attempting to get in to graduate school for my masters.. Hopefully a couple years later the job market will have improved and I will have made myself a more attrative future-employee in the process.
