What PC Game are you playing now?

Now that I'm off school, I'll probably be getting back into flight sims on top of Q4 and Oblivion. Probably will try LOMAC again, with some Falcon 4.0 sprikled in. Maybe will get spanked in IL-2 by my dad for a few hundred times too (he's a really good IL-2 player!).

Tried Unreal 2 last weekend, btw - kind of disappointing on the whole. Not only that the bloody copy protection kicked my dvd burner out of the system twice (gladly enough it was on the notebook, so removing and reinserting the drive was less of a nuisance...) and I could only play my perfectly legal original using a no-cd patch (long live GCW!

). The game itself was kind of boring, too - much too linear, much too flat in terms of the story and much too short. The box even carries the "Best of Atari" label - yeah, right...

Trying Freelancer now - but I don't think I like the battling...

Greetings from Hannover!

Neither U2 nor Freelancer were any good, from what I remember. I gave up on both pretty quickly.

If you want something like Freelancer, try Tachyon: the Fringe. It's not as open ended as Freelancer, but it has all of the wit and charm that Freelancer should have had. And, you've got Bruce Campbell doing the vocals for your character! C'mon... Bruce Campbell... you know you want it!

I loved Independence War II for that reason too. Good story (though I never finished it... I should), lots of wit and charm with great voice acting, and very unique and impressive gameplay.

Been playing BF2 for the last few months (lol, I know my way around Karkand better than my own neighbourhood!), though I have cut down recently because of exams.

DOn't know about everyone else, but I'm already counting the days till "Supreme Commander" comes out, possibly the biggest release ever for me (yes, I'm a Total Annihilation addict). I've already set in place a strategy to get a top of the line dual core processor just for this game alone.

How did I not know about this!!!???

I still have Total Annihilation installed. It's incredibly old, but imo still easily as much fun as any other RTS that's come out since then. I will also consider a strategy...I'm sure TA could still kill a new system if you create a massive Skirmish game
