The way I see it, nearly everyone is picky about something or another. For a lot of people it's clothes, cars, watches. For almost all of us on this site, it's audio equipment, obviously.

But what else?

I notice Vertigo has both some really expensive inkpens and an Aeron ($600 office chair). (Sorry Vert, I needed an example.)

For me, I'm picky about anything audio but that includes home theater and movie theaters, too. I get really irked by blown speakers and such in movie theaters.

I'm also pretty finicky about steak. I find it ironic that I can eat a cheap hamburger and feel satisfied but I'll nitpick the hell out of an expensive filet mignon. Stange, but true.

I'm picky about beer. I hate that people even call Budweiser and Sapparo beer. Mass market American and Japanese companies have tarnished the word.

I'm very picky about chocolate. It's not that I won't ever eat a Snickers when I'm starving and there's a vending machine around, but for curing a chocolate craving, it just doesn't work. Swiss and Belgian chocolates are more what I look for. I'll settle for Lindt and even Ghiradeli if I have to.

Finally, there's people. Man, I just have no tollerance, I'm a total snob. I've begun to play this game where I strike a conversation with someone and see how many sentences it take them to mention some religious, political or health cause. And if they're not some kind of activist, then I just look for them to be an idiot. Most people don't disappoint. Yeah yeah, I know this is some involved defense mechanism involving rejection and abandonment issues or whatever, but I think it's also a matter of just not having patience. So anyway, yeah, I'm picky about people.

I want to be picky about cars but I can't afford to be. I'm driving a Honda and it works, so I'm thankful for that. I used to drive a Type R which I liked a lot and I'd rather be driving a 911 Turbo.

What do you guys make a big deal over?

My main nitpicky things revolve around food also!! I hate all those creamy, mayo coated, sauces and stuff they use to disguise or overpower the flavor I wanted in the first place!!! I wanted the steak because I like the flavor of steak. If I wanted some sissy namby pamby cream sauce flavored thing I would have ordered that instead!! Fancy restaurants make a thing about disguising the meats and stuff to make it taste like something else. Bad choice in my book!!!!

I also hate it when other people eat my food and offer me theirs as some form of compensation!!

If I wanted THEIR food that THEY ordered I would have ordered THAT instead!!! Let me enjoy mine, you enjoy yours. If you want a little of what I have, order another dish and take the remains home with you!!!!

Thanks Kelly, I needed to get that off my chest!!!

People that are all wrapped up in themselves. Thinking that their opinion is the only one that may be right. I have no time for them.

I am also picky about the way fish is cooked. If it is overdone back it goes. I make a point of telling them exactly how I want it and expect it to come out that way.

Wow, where to start.. Most everything mentioned so far is suprisingly high on the long list. Exept fish, I'm just not a fish person.

Ok, so get criticized a lot by my friends for being too critical of stuff. (Nice how that works, eh?) When I drive, people complain that I'm too critical of other people's driving. (It's not my fault so many people drive badly, if they'd just ask before getting on my road the whole thing could be averted

) Let's see. I've gotten it bad for seeming to bitch about people's computer setups. I went to a friend's house and sat down at his computer and I was like "OMG! Why are you running at 1600x1200 @ 60hz with the brightnes all the way up, my eyes are burning!" He got the thing about the rez, and about the brightnes, but he still doesn't get the differnece between refresh rates. I think he doesn't really know what he's looking at though. (What can I say, he likes his V600's too.

) I'm trying to avoid that around him.

I think what I hate the most is when people take everything I say the wrong way. Especialy when I'm hekling stuff. My friend is like "OMG yer such an *******! You come over here, and yer like, 'OMG! this is so bad, why do you have this, why do you do that, how can you live like this?' and half the time I don't even know what yer talking about!" His dad is my boss and he's the same way but not nearly as bad. Not that my friend is actually that bad about it. Oops, I'm rampling. I hate that too!

Mostly food. When I have free time on the weekends (when I'm at my apartment) I like making fairly intense meals. I'm very against the 'old fashioned home cooking' and prefer more interesting modern things. Cooking isn't what I like, but I really like eating so it makes it worth it

Also very picky about clothes...

If you read the above words I sound gay, but trust me, I'm not.

home theater: flat screen wega, dts dvd's when available.

Music, i.e., "tunes".

In fact, I can't recall ever meeting anyone else with such narrow likes and dislikes, LOL.

Let's see...I'm picky about...

Writing utensils. Guess it's just in my blood.

All things audio. I can't help but start getting all critical when I step into somebody's house and start hearing boxy bass coming out of some 2000 watt Magnavox minisystem. I literally have to watch myself sometimes around my friends and just zip my lip and turn a deaf ear.

My watch. It's no fancy Rolex or anything, but every other year I'll get an itch to replace it with something new, just because.

I'm quite picky about keeping my stuff scratch and oil free. I can't help but cringe when I see people grab remotes after eating pizza.

I'm actually not picky about my chair. I got the Aeron cause my previous chair, your typical run of the mill leather office chair from Officemax, was killing my back and making me feel like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I figured I sit in front of my computer long enough everyday to warrant something like the Aeron.

Not picky about food. It all comes out the same anyways.

Aesthetics. Women, cars, telephones, wallets, guitars, nearly everything. If it doesn't look pretty, I'm not 100% happy with it. Rust, dents, scratches, missing pieces, etc. bother me a lot.

I'm shallow.

Just kinda threw that one in there... man, there were some serious ganja snobs in Amsterdam... but then, they could afford to be picky about the sticky over there. I guess me and my friends in high school were pretty picky as well... there were numerous times when we would decline a smoke due to the ****ty nature of ghetto $100/ounce herb.
