So I've got a few pairs of headphones for various things but one task I don't have is a pair of headphones for wearing indoors. I do have Sennheiser 6XX which I now have a Fostex HP-A4 for when I'm at the PC. I've got Sennheiser momentum 2.0 wireless for work. I've got Shure SE535 for travelling.

But ideally I'd like a pair of open headphones for listening to stuff around the home.

I know (or at least I think) my 6XX probably won't give the sound the best chance because they have high impedance and my phone - a Samsung Galaxy S9+ - probably couldn't drive them right? (Assuming I've read stuff right).

The Fostex and 6XX only came in the past few days and they do sound great but I've not really had a chance to try the 6XX on my phone other than briefly and they didn't sound as good as the PC.

I'm hoping I can maybe get something on a Black Friday offer.

So I don't expect someone can recommend a pair of headphones right away but perhaps you can tell me what kind of thing I'm looking for in a pair for use in the home on my phone. I don't intend to get a headphone amp - although maybe that would be the answer and just use the 6XX.

HD650 impedance is 300 ohms, unless you have some kind of ridiculous engineering on your smartphone's motherboard you're in no danger of compromising your sound. More than likely you're just perceiving a decrease in quality from the weaker amplification your phone can provide. Generally speaking louder = better sounding.
