I'm looking to purchase a Little Dot MK 3 soon and was hoping I could get some feedback on what combos people are using for a DAC?

Even if you don't have a LD, any feedback on your DAC setup would be nice.

BTW, my goal is to have flexibility between opt, spidf and rca

Thanks in advance for input

Hi,
I am using all in one: Isabellina HPA (it has DAC and amp) and also I have LD MK IV SE.

Maybe tubes are not for me, because I could not bare a lot of listening from LDVI SE. It's just like there was shortage of bass in lower volume levels. However my headphones (HD650) are not so good with that part of sound, its just like listening with veil on it.

wow carm... yeah your setup is a little beyond what I'm planning at this point lol... I'm looking more in the lines of a ~$300 .. maybe ~$100 for a dac

Perhaps you can spend the money on an amp/DAC combo first and buy MKIII later when you feel the urge to upgrade.

Some options: LD DAC_II, iBasso D10, Audio-GD FUN.. All three have USB, optical and coaxial inputs.

I'm using the d10 with both the LD I+ and MKIII and love it (great little portable amp too). A little over your budget but maybe you can stretch or save a bit more?

I'm using a PS Audio DLIII with my MKIV and I'm very pleased with the sound. The DLIII has a nice detailed yet smooth sound that is popular among many headfi'ers. Used it may be a bit out of your price range (maybe $500ish?). Perhaps the Cambridge Audio DACmagic could be a good option (also very popular here)? I believe you can pick them up new for around $400, so perhaps a used one will fall in your budget.

Using an old Onkyo Integra integrated amp with a Keces DA-151. Probably not what you want since it takes only USB, but the DA-131 has both coax and optical in, RCA out.

What about the LD1/2 with the uDac?

I have the LD1+ and it is pretty good with my AD700, going to get the uDac after my 325is purchase or maybe before.

The uDac is getting some high praise for its sound and price.

I have the Little Dot DAC 1 paired with the MKIII and also plan on ordering the MKVII+ as soon as it is available. I also have an Ibasso D4 which apparently has a pretty good DAC. I prefer the LD to the D4 but I don't think its really a fair comparison as the two are different price points and applications. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the LD products and their responsiveness to their customers!

My prob is that I have a Beyer DT770/250 that needs at least an LD MK3 to drive it properly.

Been looking at some DAC/AMP Combos but would love an option that with the LD MK3 if possible. If not I may just have to wait till tax return, lol.
