Also listening to Iron & Wine - Kiss Each Other Clean. Not loving this album quite so much.

Give it a few listens. The first couple of times I listened to the album the electronic elements grated on my nerves a bit, but after a couple of more times through I began to like it quite a bit. I still had the lushness of The Shepherd's Dog as my standard I think.

I'd like to know, too. I've been spinning Oscar Peterson and Mozart this week. Don't think I've bought anything released in 2011 yet, either.

At least you give some indication of what you're listening to. Maybe it would help if o/p did the same, because 10.5 years is a lot of music to choose from when giving recommendations.

I've got Peterson and Mozart on my iTunes as well, although to be honest they don't get played much; I'm not sure how much overlap there would be in our tastes. The new CD that has really won me over this year is Nova Express by John Zorn, which is a really great jazz album for a quartet of piano, vibes, bass and drums. Not the usual squealing, satanist Zorn, but not easy listening either ... it sits right on the line where I draw my interest in jazz right now. When speaking of Zorn, "your mileage may vary" is pretty much a given.

I mix in a healthy amount of back catalogue purchases, but I'd be mighty surprised if I couldn't give a list of thirty exceptionally good albums from the last decade.
