Well, on head-fi there sure gotta be a lot of people who play an instrument.
So what instrument and music are you guys playing?
As a amateurpianoplayer I'm now playing one of my first debussyworks (deux arabesques, great piece!). Recently I played bach and some beethoven.

Guitar player for 7 years...

Play mostly hardcore / metal, but I learn the classics here and there...if not to please my dad, then to just switch it up every once and a while and "know your roots", so to speak

Been playing guitar for 14 years.

I've played in a couple of amateur bands, used to practice ridiculous amounts. Nowadays I never practice, and my playing is just like rhythm/chord foundation for my crooning along. I play a few times a week for the fun of it or for friends or family. I help my brother along with his digital music/found sound creations as well.

Mostly play rock/pop/folk standards from a repertoire of a few hundred, mostly just stuff I've picked up over the years from listening to a song and picking up the guitar. I find it very easy to figure out the chords for most music, even the more complex chord progressions or types of chords. Remembering them a month later is a different story though.

Also noodle on piano and of course I sing a lot.

I played Saxophone in junior high and high school and Contra Alto Clarinet in high school(last 2 years). I havent played in a year now though since I can't afford an instrument rite now. I'd sure like to continue playing saxophone as a hobby though.

I play (well, played) symphonic Tuba for a number of years, and I'm thinking about learning how to play the clarinet again. I was much better with a woodwind than a brass

I play guitar (classical, folk, rock, jazz, country, blues), bass (just mess around on it a little bit), drums, and piano. I'm by far the most proficient in guitar, but recently I picked up a violin and have been teaching myself to play. I've got an accordion that my grandpa gave me, but those things are super complicated. I also write prolificly, but I'm afraid most of my stuff isn't very good.

I play the let's-learn-to-play-this-song-on-guitar-by-ear-even-though-you-don't-know-how-to-play-(or-even-stroke-the-strings-correctly)-and-get-frustrated-and-give-up intrument.

It's fun, but then I get bummed out time after time.

Guitar for 8 years, bass for 2 years (my brother is the bass player of the family).

I was in a punk/hardcore band for a while, then I played bass in a rock band (think Pixies and such) for a while. I'd like to expand my music equipment and get into doing more "post-rock" type stuff and just recording it all myself. But that's a huge heap of cash if I were to do that, so it's not going to happen anytime soon.

I was classically trained on the piano from age 5 but dropped it (mostly) after my freshman year of college.

I've been playing guitar on and off since high school but have taken it up somewhat more seriously this summer. I write and sing for my new campus band as well as play the rhythm guitar and keep those fools on track.

Kudos to you my man... Damn hardest thing to do is keep rhythm and timing IMHO.

Rock guitar since 1985.
