These require quite a bit of power to reach their full potential. I power mine with a maxxed out PPA with diamond buffers. Dynalo is another good choice.

Thanks for all your replies, so I gather that a PA2V2 or the NADC320BEE headphone out will not power them well??

NO....do worry. If you've cared enough to go to the trouble and expense doing the mods. .....look toward Dynahi, Lavry, Prehead, or Raptor.
..........otherwise cash-in on their present popularity and replace with something like 2003 version dt880....or whatever pleases you more. Today, unmodded, and marginally-powered k340 are just another set of headphones - still pleasing, but not remarkable in that guise.

I was kinda worried for a second, I guess you can see a K340 purchase in my future :) though I might listen to it with my Amp (when it will arrive !!!) and I will determine how good is the sinergy between them, and if it feets my Likings and serves my music well.
