Hey all. I know I am a newbie, but lately i've been upgrading my home headphone setup and focusing much less on my speaker setup's. I run mostly vintage gear, and have a tube headphone amp on its way (wish it would come!!!).

Well, I have been wondering how you guys prefer listening--sitting is cool of course when you're at your computer, but what about at night, before bedtime? I mean, unless you listen to iBuds(

) it is nearly impossible to listen lying down.

In the last few days I set up a temporary headphone setup next to my bed, because that is where I mostly use headphones (at night I have to). The set-up consists of a 70's Harmon Kardon integrated amp and a Sony SCD-CE595 changer. The Little Dot 2++ will replace the amp's headphone-out as soon as I get it...

But like I said above, sitting up and listening in bed hurts my back and neck, no matter how awesome the sound is. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

Also, I look forward to posting on Head-fi and upgrading my equipment along with the rest of you. Thanks again, Tom

I lie down in bed and then place my headphones in such a way that the headband is over my nose and the drivers still cover my ears

my pillow has enough fluff to let my head sink in and holds my headphones right up where i want them, i recommend auditioning new pillows, instead of worrying about what youd need in terms of gear or posture for correct listening.

Sitting in a comfortable chair, leaning back while I raising my feeds to a level with the rest of my body. Then close my eyes and relax.
Pure bliss!

Must upgrade everything. Including pillows.

pillows improve sound quality.

( memory foam > feathers > cotton fluff > styrofoam )

You're certainly not the only one.

When listening to some relaxing music (chillout, ambient, ...) I sometimes fall asleep as well.

Anything with calm vocals / soft beat makes me fall asleep.
