What is your favorite headphones under $1000?

For me it has to be the Hifiman Ananda because it does treble so well. Or maybe cause everything feels so Grand! I guess you will know what I mean if you have heard it.

Hands down the Black Limited Edition DT990, It's slightly warmer then the "Regular" 990s.
BUT, you have to swap pads to the Dekoni Elite Velour. The pad change makes the bass tighter and deeper while keeping the mids and toning down the treble. It adds even more staging and increases the imaging perfectly.
IMO you have to go much higher up the price scale to match or beat them. I have and have had many cans over the years and these just hit the perfect spot for me...

For me it's between the Denon AH-D7200 (which are $999 new, so don't know if they really qualify - I got mine used) and the Hyland Audio Jupiter One. They both have a sound signature I really enjoy -- a bit of bass boost without getting boomy or 'flabby', mids aren't recessed, treble isn't overwhelming or sibilant.

I also have Ananda and I love them.

There would also be Focal Clear under 1000 €.

Someone even got HE6SE for under 1000 €, which should be better than Ananda but very difficult to drive.

Got an irish HD650 now for quite some time. It's not only my favourite headphone under 1k (which was a HD600 before) but it plays around the same league as the Utopia and my HEKV2 for me.
