Much the same for me.

Also

Most of the songs off Nine Inch Nails- Still album, with the last few instrumentals being the most powerful, as far as sad songs go

Tell me if you're not moved by him....re-sing over and over again...

man, that video gave me the chills; he exerts a lot of emotion in that song. Bic Runga does an excellent cover of his song.

here's one to suggest:

I Will Wait For You -- Connie Francis

i listened to it recently in a Futurama episode, "Jurassic Bark". near the end, if don't cry during that, you're not human.

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World

Once you've reached certain age and know what it's like having and losing ones you love. His interpretation is so sad yet so beautiful to me.

a perfect sonnet - bright eyes
greeaattt song, very pessimistic lyrics with harsh melancholy vocals.

something in the way - nirvana
used in the film jarhead, possibly the gloomiest song ive ever heard, strongly recommended

3 libras - a perfect circle
a poetic retelling of an unfortunate seduction - bright eyes
poison oak - bright eyes

....maybe just bright eyes in general
