I have been a happy owner of a pair of V-Moda Vibe headphones for about a year now, and I feel like it is time to upgrade. I'm looking for a set that has as good or better low end response, but with more detailed mids/highs. I'm looking very seriously at the Future Sonic m5/m8, and am currently waiting for a good deal to pop up on eBay. Are there any others I should be seriously considering in the $100-200 range?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I see the Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 on sale on Amazon for around $140. (which seems like an incredible deal, down from $400) Do you guys think they would have enough bass? I listen to rock and house music.

You would be more than satisfied with the TF-10. If you dont mind the fit, and the way they look in your ears.
You should do some re-search about how they sound first.
I listen to Rock/Electronic and the TF-10 is my #1 IEM right now.

There is definitely a good amount of bass witht he triple.fi's but it may not be enough for you. The vibe's are well known for being punchy and full with bass. The range for the triple.fi's is going to be a little more extended, more defined, with less punch, particularly in the lower bass frequencies.

I’ve just sold my triples. Whilst they're good and well weighted, fitting can be an issue unless you go for a pair of custom ear buds. But the triples are supposed to be modelled on professional monitors not commercial ipod generation earphones. Be prepared for that, because at first I found the triples to be a bit of a culture shock.

Any other suggestions guys? I have read a lot of reviews on the Triple.fi's, and some people say they lack bass, and are not as "fun" to listen too. I'm not looking for a neutral sounding headphone. Just a very detailed sound, with good bass. I listen mainly to house music.

Thanks.

like i said the triples 'lack bass' for a good reason, and that's because they're basd on studio monitors not the commercial ipod crowd.

try the 5eb's if you eant banging bass, a crisp open sound, but beware.
