From a little googling around, here is an image of the MX500 RC:

The difference between the MX500 and the MX500 RC is nonexistent. They are absolutely identical. The RC models are available in Asia only, so that is the model name over there. One could think they changed it's name because logitech used MX300 and MX500 for they pc mice also, in order for Sennheiser to get better search results on google etc... just a guess.

There's also an MX400 RC, which is identical to MX400 non RC:

Only the casing is different, from the MX400. That also applies to the MX500 RC.

Oh.. yes:

The RC means remote control, and the changes are:

no case
shorter cord to accomodate remote control units like the iRiver SlimX iMP-550, etc.

Thus, the MX300, 400, 400 RC, 500 and 500 RC should all sound nearly identical; only the 500 series feature in-line volume controls. The non-RC 400 and 500 also include cases.

Thank you very much!!!

BTW: Will the MX500 RC be more expensive because it is import version??

sorry to come back to this thread, but these earbuds are looking pretty interesting ... the Sennheiser site (click 'variant' in right-side nav) says this is a China-only release, so maybe that RC is 'Republic of China.' Also, it says it doesn't have the volume control and that its cord is neck-chain style. All other things being equal, I'd be more psyched on these because walking around town I pop my earbuds out every couple of blocks for something. A lot of time I'll be standing on the sidewalk talking to someone with my MX500 buds in my hand wondering why they didn't make them that way, or why I didn't just use my E888s (answer: fear of breaking them).

Anyone know of a mailorder spot that's selling these? Or tried them?
