what is the coldest sound signature closed back headphone under $250?

Are you referring to an analytical, treble emphasized sound signature, or are looking for neutral? I've seen several opinions as to what "cold" means - some refer to the driver housing such as metal, rather than wood or plastic. So what's your definition?

Might check out the old AKG K340,but it needs a serious amp.

"coldest" I've heard is the Sony MDR 7506. AKG K700 series pales in comparison to it.

Even just saying "cold and analytical" makes my ears bleed lol.

Been a while but the Brainwavz HM5 is quite neutral and cold sounding and well within your budget.

Pretty certain from reading that plenty Beyer headphones fit this signature
