What is the best Dave Matthews album in terms of good songs primarily and recording quality secondary. Thanks.

EDIT: My favorite songs are Crash Into Me, Everyday, So Right, The Space Between, What You Are, and Where Are You Going.

Both Under the Table and Dreaming and Crash are excellently recorded. I prefer the music on Under the Table though..

Well, it also seems that Everyday is excellently recorded too

. I just went to Walmart and since they didn't have Live at Luther College I got Everyday. I am not in the least disappointed. This is an incredible cd. Every song is awesome.

if you like everyday i think you're going to love the rest of their stuff. i own pretty much every commercial dave album and i think that's their weakest work. that's the one they put out without steve lillywhite as producer i think. i really missed his touch. if not live at luther college your next album should probably be under the table or crash. under the table is great but crash as a good make out cd is almost unparalleled.

Goose, I can't believe you say that Everyday is their weakest album. Already, it is one of my favorite cd's. But that just makes me even more excited to get their other albums, especially Live at Luther College.

Btw, the recording quality is just amazing. I haven't heard many cd's that sound better than this.

Yeah - I agree with Goose - you've got nowhere to go but up from here. Luther college is great - but again I think their best studio work is Under the Table and Dreaming. Live albums have their own magic sometimes, I don't like to compare studio to live - just enjoy them both

Before These Crowded Streets
Under the table and dreaming comes in a close second
Crash is third
New album is prolly no.4 since I dont really like Everyday all that much, and I hated Stand up

Edit : Holy Thread Resurrection Batman!!!!

I would have to say Under The Table and Dreaming is my favorite studio album.

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds at Radio City is a great live album.
