when we hear something, it is not isolated to one ear. Say a sound is generated on our right side, the right ear hears it first, then a short time later the left ear hears it at a reduced perceived volume. Wearing headphones robs the brain of this extra information, so after a while it becomes fatiguing listening to phones as it unnatural.

Crossfeed, as its same suggests mixes the two channels together slightly and with a small delay to simulate this natural effect, and many users swear by it. However, most are quite sensitive to impedance and positioning in the circuit, but this can easily got around with careful planning.

Go to www.headwize.com and then the Libary, then Projects, then Signal Processors for quite a few variations
