Is there anything in the $100 range that will present a significant jump in sonic quality over the X3's?

I can think of a few things but none of them are audio related

. Really, the Mylars are very, very good. If you want better you'll have to pay a lot more than $100

x2 bigtime! cant comment on the M5 but i have both the x3 and a modded (podectomized) iM716. my iM716 destroys the x3 in almost every hifi meaningful category. that said, the iM716 realy needs a good source + amp to scale the audiophile heights while the mylarone x3 sounds decent just offa DAPs headout IMO. the fact that i paid $65 bucks for it is icing on the cake

hard to say. 100$ is crowded with many long stays that are powered by the more expensive armature design. i love the m5, but i got that for 130$ usd. i think that other iem may sound different, not better as they use diff technology. i personally do not like the armature sound at all.
