A sponsor for Head-Fi answered my WTB ad for a RS-2; mint demo RS-2 was what was offered.

From what I recall, demo Grados aren't even numbered, are they? So would that mean they are some of the earliest from the production line? Or...am I missing something here?

TIA.

I once bought a demo pair of AKG (eBay -a Long Island retailer) and they were absolutely indistinguishable from new. You should not have any qualms about it......even better, since they've been demo-ing them - it's unlikely for them to be newest production. That's a plus, in my eyes. Price? Used ranges from $350-400.

If they really are from sponsors, the pair was used in their store as a demo unit.

Typically "DEMOS" can be either of these two possiblities. You will have to ask the seller if you want to be sure.

But yeah, demos can save you alot of money. I recently got a "demo" SR225 for $160 shipped. Seller stated it was a customer return and it was it mint condition. Saved myself $40.

I saw that pair...I've dealt with that seller before. Great guy.

With demos it can be difficult because some get used more than others. If the bowl pads are in good shape, then it sounds like a deal.

I have purchased 2 different pair of Grado "demos." In both cases these cans where returned because the customer did not care for them and exercised the 30 day return policy. Both appeared new and I saved some cash.
