Actually the first headphones I heard and wanted to buy was some Senns. I was about 9 then and wanted to buy some headphones to use with my Sanyo HiFi

I went to one of 3 Audio dealers in my town and the only hps he got was Sennheiser. I remember I was amazed with sound then (it was the best sound Ive heard at that time). My mother didnt understand that
and I ended up with some 1/3 the price Philips from other shop:/

Grado SR125's. (hate these Tonka toy manufactured pieces of junk. Actually Tonka would probably make them better!) Every thing past these have been in a much higher class.
