Hello everyone :)

So, I listen to a fair amount of music. A few hours every day. Tired of using my in-ear sennheisers, I want the real deal. Big, comfy headphones. I have been saving money for a while now, and it's time for the purchase. But there is no wasting of money!

I am not an expert on headphones, hence, I am in your hands!

- I listen to a lot of dance music, dubstep, house (so lots of bass)
- I also listen to quite a bit of progressive/trance, pop/rock (queen!!!!), and classical music (so the bass doesn't have to take over the vocals)
- I could not give 17 ****s about the design and brand, all i want is quality
- They have to be reasonably strong built
- I don't know if this changes anything, but my ears are quite big. I am not Dumbo, but I have quite a set of ears.
- Budget: 350-400 euros (460-530 dollars).

Thanks a lot, I am waiting for suggestions!

p.s. I live in europe, so if anybody knows a good, reliable online shop where I can buy them would be great (or better yet an actual physical shop in Rome, Italy!!)

I will suggest the Sennheiser IE80 to get the ball rolling. Take your time and research around before you commit to anything.

Were you referring to in-ears specifically (because you were using in-ears before)?

yes, absolutely, there are just so many around that I came here to get a list of names, and after my research I will make the final decision. I will start looking those up. Thanks

How about the Beyerdynamic DT990, if you can get a decent amp. What source do you use?

I am unaware of headphones needing amplifiers, can I get a link that will educate me :) ?

Well, mainly I use my phone and laptop, but when my father doesn't need it, I use the stereo amplifier we have (yamaha)

They're not the full size headphones the OP wanted, and they're not really comfortable unless you get custom tips from ACS...

Really? The IE8 was very comfortable to me (I assume the IE80 is the same).

Oh, it's OK. The isolation is subpar though. You'd want custom tips for that, or just get the Shure SE535...

It's probably my brain not working properly but I didn't find much difference between the IE8's and SE530's isolation. SE530 better yes but nothing that would make me point it out as a clear selling point.
