So, I sold off my K340..and I'm just looking to try something new. I want to get a headphone that will match my system well (see signature). I've been really considering the RS1 (would possibly buy new) and also a recabled HD650. I've owned lots of different headphones, but never 2 at the same time. Basically I'll get one in..use it for a while, sell it then buy something else. As for what I listen to..It's a fairly wide range of things..Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, The Beatles..a lot of experimental indie stuff.

So basically..what headphone do you think would best pair up with my existing system?

Considering you come from the K340 (which are very power hungry and I somewhat doubt your set up has done them justice) the following phones are the obvious candidates to consider:
Hd650
HD600
DT880
DT990
K701
PROline 2500
PROline 750
RS1
SR325i
There are plenty more of course, but these are the ones I (have) own(ed) myself besides the K340.
They are all different, I suggest you A/B them and keep the ones you like.

It would be helpful to know how you like your music served. Lots of bass?
Detail? Both?

In my experience, the best headphone in your price range for the music you listen to would be the... K340.

I think that you should be brave and go for an Ergo 2. Or jump ship, and get yourself a nice ortho.
