It must be:
- easy to drive (so no Sennheiser HD800)
- comfortable
- good build quality
- great soundstage
- great imaging
- not fatiguing.

I would have to recommend a pair of DT880s/990 pro. They are insanely comfortable and are some of the best sub 300$ headphones that have great detail and soundstaging, Another headphone you might like is the AKG K550.

Good luck and Happy Holidays

Apogee makes several audio products, do you have a model number?

I'm currently using the Apogee One (iPad + iPhone) for my Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone. It drives all my headphones and earphones without a problem so far.

Can't find any really good details on the headphone output on the Apogee One, so not sure if it could drive 250-Ohm Beyer headphones.
You would think for the price of it it should, but just can't find any good detail on headphone output.
The AKG K612 Pro is only 120-Ohm
