i use the sticky guide to equalize headphones. After equalization is complete, the headphones are supposed to have a flat response throughout. From there I enhance 60hz response a little bit

-5db flat on comp. that helped to reduce some distort.

I'm still new to this, so this is a dumb question. Why have a flat eq? Is it just to minimize distortion?

Flat, if I didn't like the sound my equipment was producing I'd change my equipment.

Dead flat,i used equalizer back in the day when i listened with integrated soundcard and a pair of philips headphones...all the cans i have now simply don't need equalizer to sound good.
