I have searched the forums but didnt find out anything about the new numbering system. I had a pair of shure e3 and sent them in for repairing. My old pair has three digits on the plug with the last one representing the year of production and the first two implying the week of production. However, when I got my new phones back, the number on the plug appears to be 3585. I am just curious about the number, which I used to use for warranty purpose. Please let me know if you understand how to interpret the number. Thanks.

Send a PM to Sugarfried, he works for Shure and is a member of the forum.

It should be three digits...

The first 2 numbers are the week of manufacture, and the last one is year.

For example, if my number is 395, my 'phones were made on the 39th week of 2005.

Wouldn't work, as the month would require 2 digits.

Well, to put a spin on it...

My E5s have the number '1945', and my E4s have the number '265'

It can't be week / month / year because week 19 is not in April...
