I see IC in the for sale/trade forums, but I still have no idea what it means! Help me out!

It means Interest Check, such thread is made to look if there are people intersted in an item and what people are willing to pay

Interest Check. Sometimes used to guage whether or not there is much buyer interest in the item potentially for sale, or which of two or more items to list for sale.
Unfortunately, these days it is a bit of a subterfuge for avoiding the statement of a price up front in an ad..
