It's a really good price, but what about the quality. Will it improve my headphones sound?

That is a simple CMOY design. Basically just 1 opamp in a box. It will amplify, and might sound OK but it's not great. It's designed to be cheap first, small second and sound quality is a third. I suggest you look into the PA2v2 or portaphile amplifiers instead.

Yes. The PA2V2 is $60 including shipping. You may also want to look at the Little Dot Micro+. It is also in the sub-$100 range for amps, and I heard it has a different sound signature than the PA2V2. Those little CMOYs they sell on e-Bay are cute, but by the time the auction is over, they usually go for around $40-$50. I'd rather spend $60 on the PA2V2 for an intro into headphone amps.

I like my PA2V2 a lot. It is the "gateway drug" of amplifiers. It lets you know how much an amp can help you enjoy your music, and it leaves you wanting more. Hence, my decision to ask Jan Meier if I could get in on the whole Headfive thing.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good deal.

The problem with that amp, is that there is no volume control. I would take other's advice and the PA2V2
