ill start. im 18m just got out of high school, started buying Grado's with 3 weeks allowance, and thats when i got the bug. bought an amp, and here i am.

ive been unemployed all summer until i got a job on friday last week and i make about 8 bucks an hour. thats basically enough to get whatever headphones i want, amps and DACs... well i guess thats what education buys you?

I work at a computer store that also has a flourishing repair and internet sales business going on. www.centralcomputers.com
im just a counter salesman, help people with decisions and helping people build their dream computers for whatever budget they may have. honestly i dont think i get paid near enough for what i do, but who does? im just grateful im in an air conditioned building all day and get to go out on 1 hour breaks.

so basically the whole idea behind a job, was just to be able to get approved for a credit card, dont worry, one pair of cans at a time boys... not getting into credit problems at my age
wink.gif

so ive always been wondering, who are most of the head-fiers out there?

busy 12-hour work day suit and ties? groggy basement hiders? high school kids staying up that extra hour to listen to that album that sounds oh-so-right with their new setups?

what brought this question up in my head was because i see a lot of the head-fiers that im starting to get to know, especially the ones from san jose, have like multi thousand dollar systems and i dont ever really see myself being able to afford that crap and still have money to eat.

I'm an IT technician at my former school. It's great - 10 minute walk from my house, I start early, leave early and I get to work with people I've known for years already.

Oh yeah, and ties are optional. Hurrah!

Business Analyst / Systems Analyst / Mentor / Trainer / Team Leader (acting) / Database Adminstrator / Programmer / Statistician.

Well that's the work I do. I believe my official title is 'Technical Programmer'. Got thrown in the deep end as a grad two years ago and loving it!

I'm a high school kid, sophomore this coming year, that only has Crossroads Mylar X3's, no money, and all the time in the world to think about the cans and amps and stuff that I'll get when I get a job, hopefully next summer. Until then I will be building a cd collection with my allowance from my parents, $20 a month.

I wish I was still at the allowance age; those were good times.

One part C.I.A. assassin, one part freelance graphic artist.

Looking to put the freelance on back burner, and get a 9-5 graphic design position shortly, if all goes well. Less free time, but more money and benefits.

I bought most all my headfi shenanigans during college circa 2005/2006. More recently upgraded my DAC to a 0404 USB, which admittedly is still on the economical side, but it will suffice until I manage to squirrel away some money that normally goes to music acquisition.
