Hi,

I just stumbled on this forum from audiocubes. I just purchased an ATH-A900 a few days ago, and am still waiting for it to arrive. Well, the excuse was because my old ATH-FC7 broke...

but still a good excuse to upgrade.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to use these great headphones (the FC7). True, they are uncomfortable after a few hours, but still, they have a sound I like alot. (I'm looking forward to an even improved sound on the A900. *lick lips*)

The headband has snapped at the plastic part where it articulates and joins the driver to the elastic metal band. I wonder if anyone will get rid of their old FC7 for me to scavenge some parts

I just bought the FC7's

I was just wondering do you need to give them a good burn in ?

I am happy with the sound quality but should I expect them to get better or not.

I have some EX71's and they seems to be getting clearer and in general better all the time, I have now had them for a few months and use them alot.

I have been using the FC7's quite alot too but it has been really hot here recently (London) so the EX71's have been getting use aswell.

Just want to know your views and experiences, I have not had that much epxerience and dont know how they rate in comparison to other phones.

I hope that you sort out your problems and enjoy the A900's !!

Cheers

Barney:

As far as I know, I didn't notice much difference over time. Your mileage may vary.

I've had the FC7 for over a year, and I guess due to use in cold weather, I must have stressed out the phones too much. (I use it as sonic earmuffs... I must be bad to my phones!)

the fc7 are leagues ahead of the ex71 if you have some decent equipments. they are the portable groovalizer, and under $1000.

too bad i have no idea how you can use the warrenty for these japanese imported headphones.

i'm having trouble imagining exactly which part you're talking about, it would help if you post a pic.
