being a city person from LA i don't often see the snow, in fact only on day trips to the San Bernadino mountains do i ever see it. Well this weekend I spend 2 days in it. I went on a trip with a group of 36 Cal Students to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. the bus broke down near the final hill. they ordered us off and to wait. they tried and they tried but the bus was dead. so we had fun, from 10pm -3am friday-saturday we walked, built snowmen, had snow ball fights and used ipod lights to find out way through the forest to our eventual camp. you'd think that people would be angry to walk in the middle of the snow storm; yet everyone had the time of their life. seriously, it was the funnest thing i've done in years. i guess it's the fact that we're a bunch of California kids who don't ever see the snow (only later did i find out that you don't use umbrellas during snow storms), but the fact that we made such great use of a disaster simply astonishes me when i look back upon it. in any case the rest of the weekend was just as fun.
Hoped you had a great weekend. and there is still more....
Edit: after a weekend like that without a camera i've decided i must have one, even at the cost of not moving up the grado ladder till fall. see the Canon T2 v. K2 thread.
