Post what decades you wish you could have grown up in, in the past please and state why.

For me it would be the 60s and the 70s. I always envy my dad because he went to the original Woodstock and I think that it would have been amazing. Also I just love the music from that time period and the every day routine of living.

But I dont know how I would live without head-fi or my computer

My father has seen original performances of The Wall and early DSOTM shows. Would give my left...um...arm to have been in his shoes. I'm pretty happy though. Not too much to complain about the years I was growing up.

That's the era I grew up in and I wouldn't have it otherwise (musically speaking). I know it's bad to get stuck in an era but 64-76 was heady times for all genre. And there were so many good artists that the CD revolution didn't transfer. The only bad (swipe) thing that happened was Disco. (damn Bee-Gees)

My audio hell would be tied to a loop of YMCA. Wouldn't you know The Village People are one of my wife's favorite cds for travel. She loves disco.

As for seeing the origional groups during their primes, also consider the price of those shows then. Hell, the warm up bands weren't too shabby. About $15 to see 4-5 hrs of music was typical. I think we paid $40-50 for Cal Jam II weekend. A full night of Floyd for $15-20. You'd see SRV warm up ZZ Top. Watching REO, Heart, Pat Benetar, Kansas and similar playing 6 flags free just to get exposed.

Decade decade.
18th Century.
Pride & Prejudice era.
Where men bothered about business & inheritance,
Women bothered about getting married.
And no one worried about what new gear they're gonna buy.
Be it a new pda, laptop, headphone, etc.

I'm happy with my decade: the 90s, being born in '86. I have since seen some things other generations either will not see for a very long time (millennium change), and seen things I hope other generations will not see again (9/11).
