What about the W100s. Where do they fall within the spectrum of things. Worth pursuing?

Their sonic character is less strong than the more extreme ends of AT's woody line, so that means both less criticism and less praise.

I also own a pair of W100 and will say they are a far cry from the L3000 which I also own. I prefer the W100 over the W1000 for many of the same reasons why I prefer the A900LTDs over the W1000. The W100 is harder to find and can be expensive depending on it's condition. Everyone has different opinions on various cans, all opinions should be taken with a grain of salt.

I own a pair of W5000s and with my current set up... 0404 USB/Headroom Home Amp (Old version). I have to say the bass isn't very strong compared to what I am used to with HD650s. However, I do feel the sound is very balanced and the details in the mids/highs is just amazing. Anyway, if you are looking for phones with strong bass than w5000s are probably not what you want.

That was what I had read previously and what has kept me away from W5000 in the past. Surprising that that's the case though because A900 bass is so plentiful.
