I bought a Dell Inspiron about 3 years ago and it was in perfect working condition until I found it one day with a puddle of water underneath it. My dad took it apart and confirmed that the motherboard was fried and my computer is dead forever. However, everything else is intact. I was wondering if I could do anything with any of the other parts of the computer.

Former Dell tech here -
If the motherboard is done, the computer is done. Check with Dell though, if you did somehow get the extended warranty, you may still be covered. Otherwise, put the power supply up for sale if it still works. Hard drive may still be salvageable.
In a laptop, everything connects to the motherboard, so if it goes, it's done. If you know what you're doing, you may be able to salvage the LCD or the plastics for eBay, but you have a boat anchor. Sorry.

Target practice ftw, put it out on the firing range and have at it.
