Si I'm planning on making a cable for my freshly finished SOHA, though I cant descide what cable to use.
Locally, I would have the option of either regular OFC speaker cable (I would braid it in 3 wire configuration, 1 for signal, 2 for ground) or Proel microphone/instrument cable (either mono cable with the braiding as ground or stereo with the the two conductors for signal/ground and the braiding as a shield connected in one end).
Other option I would have is to order the teflon SPC wire from ebay and braid it.

YOu can do a 4 wire flat or round braid with SPC wire. Add some techflex for covering and looks and you got yourself a nice sounding, affordable cable!

I mixed the braid I had in mind, 4 wire is what i had in mind. Like this one I made from the tranformer in the SOHA.

Would 30-32AWG be enough? That i found on 20 ft spools on ebay. From 24-26AWG I found only 50ft. and I dont think i'll need that much.

De qualquer maneira, Obrigado Manuel

Any suggestions on reasonably priced RCA plugs? Locking would be nice but they seem expensive.
Just got my jacks from DIY Fidelity and I'm worried of damaging the plating with crappy plugs.

Check out HiFi DIY Site - VT4C/211 Power Triode, they have some very nice RCA at extremely good prices.

I've tried a few so far:

RCA-M02GS looks fantastic and is OK for quality (not that great, but not bad at all). The only real problem I had with these is that the screw locking mechanism isn't foolproof, you can damage the grooves and then it doesn't lock/hold as well.

RCA-M06G doesn't look as nice, but quality is a little better.

RCA-Yarbo-50R is VERY nice, Teflon dielectric instead of plastic (like most cheaper plugs), they look great and they're fairly easy to work with, as long as you have some serious heat to solder the body. Great price/quality, I like these more than some of the Cardas stuff.

Try DH Labs BL-1 cable. It's shielded, SPC wire, about $3.50 per foot but quite nice sounding.

I think it's about as good as it gets for affordable-but-good cable. It sounds better to me than a much more expensive Monster cable I had. Partsconnexion.com carries it.
