After finishing my cmoy I feel a certain emptiness and I have nothing to do so I decided to make my own interconnects .

Yes, I did a search but everyone said something different.

I was thinking of using homegrown's super silver braid or canare mini star quad. I am going to use canare's 1/8" conectors. Which cable do you guys think I should I get?

Also I wanted to know if I could use the cable as headphone cable. I have a new pair of AKG K171's on the way (woooohooo) and thought if I am going to order the cable for the interconnects I should just do headphone cable too.

And if I can use this cable where can I find a mini XLR connector like on the AKG's?

Hope you can help me make up my mind I am sorta thinkin the star quad though cause I saw Sol_Zhen's IC's and they were sweeeet.

I have used mini star quad for a headphone cable before, it works well. Regular star quad also makes a decent IC.
I have heard that Mogami is a tad better than the Canare, but have no first hand experience with it.

I think JMT uses some flavor of Homegrown's silver. He will probably check in soon enough.

orpheus has a lot interconnects made of canare starquad and he is very happy with it, I myself made a headphone extension of about 25' and it outperform the Grado one considering that is 10' longer and sounds completelly transparent, nothing...and the best part is like 36cents a foot so I should say GO AND TRY IT!!!!

I made an interconnect out of Mogami cable. I wouldn't recommend it as it doesn't sound great. For the $20 it cost me to build it is fine, but a used pair of Kimber PBJ's for $40 far surpasses it in terms of dynamics and focus.

My personal preference would be the Canare

talking about interconnects, any place where to find decent good looking RCA males, like the ones used by monster, vampire etc...no locking please...I need to get a bunch, about 20 of them or more, I would like all of them alike....

The Canare F10 is my favorite balance between price and performance. Markertek has a great price on them.
