Now reading Heinlein's "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress". I rarely read anything Sci-Fi or Fantasy, so I had my doubts... I was quite surprised to find that it isn't really a Sci-Fi book. Quite fascinating.

From what I've heard, you just need to "get through" this book to enjoy the rest of the series, but I'm enjoying it nevertheless.

Good to know...I'm only about 50 pages in, but it seems like classic Stephen King. (just finished "11/22/63" and really loved it...) I love the line in "1922," "...for the Law, as we know, befriends whomever pays it."

It's a excellent gruesome tale 1922 is... If I'd have known you were only 50 pages in I wouldn't have mentioned the well, but it really doesn't spoil anything.

All those possibilities and consequences... Temporal Police would be on your ass for sure!

I read the non revised edition of "The Gunslinger" and it was a little slow. I had the step daughters collection so there was no waiting for the next book. I think the long delay between book releases when it initially came out is what really turned people off, they just lost interest. It is a very unique story and world.
 
Once you meet the whole Ka-tet and get to know Oy (my favorite character) I found the books very hard to put down and very enjoyable. (except for the part where King writes himself into the story...) But that's a tale for another day and many books down the road.
